Peace Begins with a Smile

TInternational Peace Day is observed on September 21every year. To commemorate the day, the Scout and Guide conducted array of activities to raise awareness about the importance of peace. Students from Class 6 took part in a peace rally, carrying banners and placards with messages of peace and unity. Class 7 students designed posters to express their thoughts on peace and harmony. And Class 8 students performed a song that emphasized the value of peace and ways to preserve it. These activities aimed to inspire students to become ambassadors of peace and spread the message of love, compassion and harmony in their communities and promoting a culture of peace and non- violence in their daily life.
A Tribute Paid to Unsung Heroes

To celebrate the 78th Independence Day, Scouts and Guides Club organized an exhibition titled ‘Our Soldiers, Our Pride.’ The exhibition showcased posters honoring the courage and sacrifices of freedom fighters who secured the nation’s independence. Students played a key role in researching, designing, and presenting the displays, giving the event a personal touch. This initiative instilled national pride, unity, and civic responsibility while connecting participants to India’s rich heritage. Visitor feedback highlighted the exhibition’s impact in effectively promoting patriotism and inspiring future generations.

Scout and Guide and Community Service clubs organized a guest lecture on ‘Traffic Awareness’ for Class VII on July 29, 2024. Mr. Kazim Rizvi, Sub-Inspector of the Indore Traffic Department, was the guest speaker. He emphasized the importance of traffic lights and the significance of their colors in ensuring road safety and efficient traffic flow. With a practical demonstration, he showed how traffic lights operate and the consequences of ignoring them. He highlighted the necessity of following traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives, using real-life examples and statistics. The session educated and inspired students to be more cautious and responsible road users.

The Investiture Ceremony held on March 13, 2024, marked a significant event for Scouts and Guides.The ceremony commenced with prayers, flag songs, and lamp lighting, in the presence of Mr. Kunal Mishra, District Training Commissioner, as the guest. Recruits completing ‘Pravesh and Pratham Sopan’ courses received badges and scarves. This ceremony fostered unity, sharing, caring, and life skills among the Scouts and Guides, instilling essential values.
Fun filled BalMela

The Scouts and Guides Club organized a fun-filled BalMela on February 9, 2024, at the school Sports Complex, fostering teamwork, creativity, leadership, speaking and problem solving skills among students. With 30 stalls offering brain teasers, riddles, dart games, domino’s game, poke a ghost game and puzzles, the participants enjoyed winning chocolates and praise. Mehandi, tattoo, and nail art added to the excitement, drawing crowds with their vibrant displays. The event rekindled fond memories of childhood for teachers and garnered appreciation for the organizers and mentors. The enthusiastic atmosphere in the BalMela left everyone captivated, celebrating the spirit of camaraderie and fun.
Scouts and Guides Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti with Cleanliness Campaign

Scouts and Guides from grade 6 to 10 paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary through a cleanliness campaign. They participated in a one-hour voluntary cleanliness drive, known as “Swachhanjali,” organized by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi at 10 a.m. on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. During this endeavour, they diligently cleaned their neighborhoods, streets, and even their homes, learning the essence of sanitation and hygiene. Beyond cleanliness, they conveyed a profound message: ‘Spread love, not germs.’ This event not only honoured the legacy of Gandhiji but also emphasized the significance of cleanliness in ensuring a healthy and harmonious community.
Observance of International Peace Day

The International Peace Day was observed on September 21, 2023 in the school. Students from grades 6 to 10, including Scouts and Guides, took part in a variety of activities aimed at imagining a world that is free from conflict and violence. One of the activities was a group song that emphasized the importance of being kind and respectful towards others. This song served as a guiding principle for the children. They also had the opportunity to express their vision of peace through art and creativity by creating posters. A peace rally was organized where students conveyed the message that peace cannot be achieved through violence, but rather through understanding. These activities helped the Scouts and Guides understand that peace is not attained through war, but is a way of living together harmoniously.
Scouts and Guides: Smiles and Whistles in All Circumstances

In an effort to underscore the significance of Scout and Guide uniforms and their pivotal roles, a guest lecture was thoughtfully organized for the students of grade 6 to 8. Mr. Kunal Mishra, the District Commissioner of Scouts and Guides, graced the occasion with his presence on July 18, 2023, as the guest speaker. The students were provided with invaluable insights, and learnt that the Scout and Guide uniform serves as an emblem of peace, harmony, and a distinctive identity within the community. Mr. Mishra emphasized the individual duty of each member, kindling in them an unwavering spirit to venture beyond classroom confines and explore the world with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Investiture ceremony of Scout and Guide club was organized on March 17, 2023. The programme started with a prayer, flag song and lighting of lamp. The guest of the event was Mr. Kunal Mishra, District Training Commissioner, Scout and Guide. The badges and scarves were given to the members of the club as a blessing to enter into a Sopan Course. The ceremony instilled in the Scouts and Guides an attitude of staying together, sharing, caring and the art of living and adapting the values.
Bal Mela: A Fun-Filled Event

The Scouts and Guides Club organised Bal Mela on February 11, 2023 to make the students display team work, creativity and talent through different games. Around 25 games stalls with brain teasers, riddles, shooting games, word puzzles, memory games, counting, bowling, pins etc. engaged the crowd and made them win chocolates and appreciation. Mehendi, tattoo and nail art were the centre of attraction. Even teachers enjoyed and reminisced their childhood time when they used to play such games.
Handling Stress and Building Healthy Relationships

To maintain healthy relationship with the parents, peers, colleagues and friends, a session on Handling Stress and Building Healthy Relationship was conducted by Dr. Nivrati Mishra, a psychologist, corporate trainer, parent coach, career counselor, teen and youth counselor on January 21, 2023 for the students of class IX and X of all the clubs. Through a powerpoint presentation, Dr. Mishra shared few tips for stress management like proper sleep,regular exercise, yoga and meditation. She also suggested limiting the excessive use of mobile phones and devices.
Be the Change Maker

A guest lecture was conducted for the Scouts and Guides of classes VI to X by Mr. RajendraLashkari, Division Senior Trainer of Scouts and Guides, Indore to inculcate leadership qualities and motivate the students to become changemakers. He told the students about the importance of teamwork and accomplishment of goals as a team. He also demonstrated different types of knots and claps. Students enjoyed the interactive session and were boosted with confidence to become changemakers.
Donate Organs,Save Lives

To create awareness regarding Organ Donation, Mr.SandeepanArya, volunteer of Muskan Group (Organ Donation) was invited as a guest speaker on October 29, 2022. Mr. Aryaaddressed Scouts and Guides of classes IX and X and showed a power point presentation to explain the importance of donation of various organs like kidneys, liver, skin etc. He also explained the importance of organ donations before and after death and how it can save the life of needy. The students realized how organ donation can help save numerous lives as well as give hope to people to rebuild their life again.
International Peace Day Observed In The School

The International Day of Peace (Peace Day) was observed on September 21, 2022 at Choithram School. To mark the Peace Day, an array of activities were conducted by Scout and Guide of classes VI to VII viz. group song in the assembly, a rally, message giving posters and a guest lecture by Mrs. Shweta Mishra, (Advance Guide Captain). Mrs. Shweta Mishra laid emphasis on the fact that peace begins with smile, it is necessary for the growth and development of the nation and we should try our best to make this world a peaceful place to live.
CBSE Reading Month Celebration

To develop reading habits in students, the Scout and Guides Club conducted various activities under CBSE Reading Month Celebration. Class VI students spoke about the benefits of reading books whereas class VII students made posters to spread awareness about how reading helps one to grow. Class VIII students organized rally and motivated the students to read books. The slogan ‘Culture of reading books makes one knowledgeable’, ‘Read for fun, ‘Read to learn’ echoed in the school. Class IX and X students performed street play on the topic ‘Inculcating Reading Habits.’ Through these activities the Scouts and Guides conveyed the message that reading books is the perfect diet for brain.
Tree Plantation

To repay the nature, tree plantation drive was conducted in the month of July 2022 wherein Scouts and Guides of classes VI to X took a step towards green and clean environment by planting trees at their home and nearby places conveying the message ‘ Plant a tree plant a life.’
Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyaan

Scouts and Guides of classes VI to VIII participated in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ initiated by Honourable Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence. The students hoisted the tricolor in their homes and on August 15, 2022 participated in a rally pertaining to the campaign.
Bal Mela Organized With Fervour and Enthusiasm

To mark the birth anniversary of Scout and Guide founder, Lord Baden Powell and Lady Baden Powell, Bal Mela was organized by the Junior School students of Scouts and Guides club on March 2, 2020. The special guests on the occasion were the elderly inmates of Dashrath Sevashram to enable them to spend some memorable moments with the children and revive their childhood memories. The programme began by lighting the ceremonial lamp followed by cake cutting to mark the occasion. The event witnessed an array of stalls and exciting games including hidden treasure, chocolate shooter, letter arrangement, magic show, nail art and tattoo which sharpened the management skills of the students. Children also presented various cultural programmes on the occasion. The guests lauded the efforts of the students and inspired them to move ahead in life with dedication and diligence.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Baden Powel, Scouts and Guides founder, Bal Mela was organized by the students of classes VI to VIII in the school on February 29, 2020. The guests of the event were Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scout Counselor of the school, his wife Mrs. Smita Mishra and Mrs. Pushpalata Mishra, Activities Coordinator. The programme commenced with lighting the ceremonial lamp followed by cake cutting. An array of stalls and exciting games like magic show, lucky seven, pattern game along with mehandi, tattoo and nail art were organized by the students. The fun filled day was enjoyed by the students and teachers.
Let’s Play Holi Using Natural Colours

Holi is the festival of colours and is celebrated with a lot of gaiety. On Holi, we can see the magical blend of vibrant colours, happiness, and love all around us. But during the celebration, a lot of pollution is caused in various ways which hampers the environment. To sensitize the students towards protecting the environment and motivate them towards using eco-friendly colours, an initiative was taken by the Scouts and Guides Club. A parent of class IV was invited to teach the students of classes IV and V on February 26, 2020 about various ways of making eco-friendly colours at home using natural ingredients like turmeric, chandan, flowers and flour.
Fun Camp at Mount Abu

The Scouts and Guides Club planned a three day Fun Camp for the students of classes IV and V at Rajasthan State Training Centre, Mount Abu from February 21, 2020 to February 23, 2020. The three day camp included numerous adventure activities like obstacle crossings, rapling, horse riding, zipline and trekking. The camp equipped students with skills of responsibility, time management, team spirit and sportsmanship.

Investiture Ceremony, one of the auspicious events for Scouts and Guides was held on February 20, 2020 for the students of classes I and II. This event aimed to develop the students emotionally, socially, mentally intellectually, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to the world. The programme started with a prayer, flag song and lightning of lamp. The guest of the event Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scout Counsellor of Choithram School was greeted with Badi Salami and Vishaal Garjana. Cubs and Bulbuls sang a patriotic song. Mr. Kunal Mishra addressed the Cubs and Bulbuls and motivated them to build strong character by being independent.

Investiture Ceremony, the most momentous occasion for the Scouts and Guides was organized for Senior School students on February 19, 2020. The guests of the event were Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scout Counsellor of the school and Activities Coordinator of the school, Mrs. Pushpalata Mishra. The ceremony started with a prayer, flag song and lighting of lamp. Students who completed Pravesh and Pratham Sopan course were felicitated with badges and scarves. The students demonstrated gadgets which they made with the help of scarves, badges and ropes. They also made different types of knots and explained their usage. The ceremony instilled the attitude of staying together, sharing, caring and the art of living and adapting the values in the Scouts and Guides.
22nd International Adventure Camp at Pachmarhi

Six Scouts and Guides of classes VII to IX accompanied by Mrs. Shweta Sharma, Incharge of Scouts and Guides club attended 22nd International Adventure Camp at Pachmarhi from February 2 to February 8, 2020. They were joined by 800 Scouts and Guides from Bangladesh, Nepal, Japan and Kenya in the international camp organized by Bharat Scouts and Guides. The treacherous tasks included rock climbing, rapling, banana ride, zipline, cycling, obstacle crossing as well as 15-18 kms daily trekking. The activities equipped the students with the skills of team building, confidence and endurance.
Artificial Lower Limb Distribution Camp Organised in Choithram School

Artificial Lower Limb Distribution camp was organized by Ratnanidhi Charitable trust Mumbai, Choithram School, Indore in association with Symbiotec Pharma Lab (P) Ltd and Rotary Club of Indore, Uptown on January 12, 2020 in Choithram School, Indore. Around 185 physically challenged people benefited from the camp. Students of the Scouts and Guides club and the Community Service club as well as teachers of Choithram School rendered their services for the noble cause. It taught everyone that making someone happy makes one the happiest person.
Annual Adventure Camp at Pachmarhi
December 24 to December 30, 2019
38 Scouts and Guides of the school along with Mrs. Shweta Sharma, Incharge of Scouts and Guides club, teachers – Mrs. Sunita Upadhyay, Mr. Snehdeep Kashiv and Mr. Ashish Raghuvanshi attended the 417th Adventure Programme at National Institute, Pachmarhi from December 24 to December 30, 2019 beating the cold weather and enjoying the adventure activities at 1 degree temperature. The camp was attended by 120 Scouts and Guides from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Rajkumar Kaushik, Director NHQ Delhi and Mr. Rajesh Awasthi, Principal Choithram School were the guests at the camp. The students participated in a bunch of activities namely, namely, valley crossing, trekking, rapling, obstacle crossing, rock climbing and horse riding. The cultural show and the campfire provided the opportunity to students to mingle with students of different cultures and taught them group dynamics, respect for other’s culture and leadership skills.
‘Best Out of Waste’ Activity

To sensitize the students towards the environment, ‘Best Out of Waste activity’ using plastic was conducted by the Scouts and Guides club for the students of class IV on December 18, 2019. They were also briefed about the importance of adapting the 4Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle and refuse, as it is an extremely important tool in our fight for a better planet. The creativity of the students was exhibited through unique masterpieces created by them using trash.

Quiz on the Theme ‘Ramayana’

India is a treasure house of mythological stories. So rich is the culture and the tradition of India that it encompasses a huge collection of stories from rich ancient India. To familiarize the young minds with roots of our culture, a Quiz was planned by the Scouts and Guides club for the students of class IV on the theme ‘Ramayana’ on October 23, 2019. The quiz enhanced the knowledge of the learners.
Doctor’s Talk on Ill Effects of Bursting Crackers

To sensitize the students about the ill effects of bursting crackers and to motivate them to celebrate clean, peaceful and green Diwali, a doctor’s talk was organized by the Scouts and Guides club for the students of class V on October 22, 2019. Pulmonologist, Dr. Pramod Jhawar enlightened the students about the environmental pollution and health hazards due to extensive bursting of firecrackers. It was an interactive session and proved to be advantageous for the students.

To sensitize the students about celebrating eco-friendly Diwali, a rally was organized by the Scouts and Guides Club in the school premises on October 21, 2019. The students of class III carrying inspiring and vibrant placards with slogans, urged everyone to celebrate a joyous and sparkling Diwali with colourful candles and eco-friendly decoratives. To spread the message of the noble cause of Green Diwali,the students pledged to ‘Say No to Crackers’.
Skype Session – ‘Jota-Joti Jamboree on the Internet’

The purpose of Jota-Joti is to enable and encourage Scouts and Guides around the world to communicate with one another by means of amateur radio and the internet, providing a fun and educational scouting experience and promoting their sense of belonging to a worldwide Scout and Guide Movement. Class V students of the Scouts and Guides club of our school participated in ‘Jota-Joti Jamboree on the Internet’, an international event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The students got an opportunity to interact with the Scouts and Guides team of New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, India (Kerala and Haryana) through a skype session on October 21, 2019. The students were keen to share their views and were also inquisitive to know about others.

Class VII students of the Scouts and Guides club participated in cleanliness drive as a part of ‘Swaach Bharat Mission’ on September 25, 2019. They cleaned the school premises, dusted the doors and windows and swept the area. The activity aimed at achieving the vision of ‘Clean India’.

Artificial Limb Distribution and Training Camp in Bhopal

LN4 Artificial Limb Distribution and Training Camp was organized by Rotary Club, East Bhopal, Rotary Club, Indore Uptown and Rotary Club Bhopal, in association with Choithram School Indore and Vijayant Scout group Indore on August 4, 2019 in Bhopal. Eight volunteers from Choithram School extended their helping hand and learnt a life skill to be needful and contribute in societal activities.
Session on Seed Bomb Making

To sensitize the students about the importance of trees and also about the effect of deforestation on nature, a session on ‘Seed Bomb’ making was arranged by the Scouts and Guides club for the students of class IV on July 17, 2019 by the Scouts and Guide Club.The session was conducted by Ms. Tarasha and Ms. Aparajita Bhadouria from the Birbal Foundation.The session commenced with showing a video to the students which showcased the declining status of the forests and its future consequences. Thereafter, Ms. Aparajita demonstrated the process of making the seed bombs to the students in detail.

To reinforce the concept of preservation of seeds, a Seed Bomb activity of plantation was conducted by Mr. Kantilal Jain, Mr. Mukesh Khandelwal, Mr. Sunil Binjwe, Mr. Dinesh Mandhanya and Mr. Sanjay Agrawal associated with Prakrati Premi group and Vijayant Scouts group for the students of Scouts and Guides Club of class 5 on July 16, 2019. The curious young learners were pretty enthusiastic throughout, and resolved to take care of the plants and the mother planet.
Investiture Ceremony For Junior School Students

Scout and Guide ‘Diksha ceremony’ for class I and II students took place on March 29, 2019 by saluting the guest, followed by Prarthana, JhandaGeet, Badi Salami and VishaalGarjana. Cubs and Bulbuls gave their reporting, took pratigya and received badges of Pravesh, PrathamCharan and Komal Pankh. They were informed about Scout Guide movement, its importance. scouting aims and were told that once a scout is always a scout whether he / she is in uniform or not.
For the students of classes III to V, the Investiture Ceremony took place on April 3, 2019 with Scout Councilor Mr. Kunal Mishra as the Chief Guest. The students welcomed him with Vishal garjana, Badi salami and agherageet.
Ms. Shweta Sharma, Scouts and Guide Incharge explained the students the importance of investiture ceremony in the life of a scout and a guide. Scout Councilor Mr. Kunal Mishra enlightened the students about their capabilities and told them how the youth could help the country by their efforts as he motto itself says, ‘KoshishKaro’.

To develop students as responsible citizens and to instill important life skills, Investiture ceremony was held for the students of Scouts and Guides club on March 19, 2019. The programme started with a prayer, flag song followed by the lighting of the lamp. Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scout Counselor administered the oath to the students. The recruits earned the badges and scarves after a lot of efforts and a yearlong learning of staying together, sharing, caring and the art of living. The new league of torch bearers sanctimoniously vowed to uphold the values in high esteem while providing service to others.
Adventure Camp For Class IV and V Students

Students of Classes 4 and 5 of the Scouts and Guides Club attended a three day camp at Rajasthan state Training Centre, Mount Abu from March 7, 2019 to March 9, 2019. The three day camp included a number of adventure activities such as obstacle crossings, boating, rappelling, horse riding, zipline, trek to interesting caves of Limdikothi. Other beautiful spots like Tod Rock, Shanti Shikhar and Nakki Lake were also visited. The main aim of the camp was overall personality development by living in simple circumstances. The children imbibed values such as time management, team spirit and sportsmanship.

20 Scouts and Guides of classes VII to IX of the school accompanied by Scouts and Guides Club Incharge Ms. Shweta Sharma and Sports teacher Mr. Vishal Tiwari attended the adventure camp under the Rajasthan State Adventure Programme at Mount Abu from February 21 to February 25, 2019.The five day camp included varied activities like obstacle crossing, mountain climbing, rappelling, horse riding, trekking to the caves of (Limdikothi and Sohansingh). Visiting Tod rock, Shanti Shikhar, Rajbhavan, Gurushikhar, Achalgadh Temple, Nakii Lake, Arbudhadevi Temple, Dilwada Temple, Sunset Point, Gyansarovar (Museum of Brahmakumaris) and International Centre of Brahmakumaris rejuvenated the mind, body and soul of the students. The thrill of excitement and enthusiasm was at its peak as the students enjoyed in the lap of nature away from the electronic gadgets. Participation in the camp enabled to inculcate the importance of time management, team spirit and sportsmanship amongst the students.

A colourful and memorable Cultural Fest, ‘Bal Mela’ was organized by Scouts and Guides Club for the students of classes III to V on February 15, 2019,. The event commenced with the arrival of visually challenged students from Anubhuti Vision SevaSansthan, who were also the chief guests of the event along with Mr. Kunal Mishra,Scout Counselor. The programme commenced with a melodious Saraswati Vandana, invoking the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Colourful cultural programmes were presented by students on the occasion. The event commemorated the birth of Lord Baden Powell and Lady Powell and a cake cutting ceremony was one of the main highlights. There were many stalls with wonderful games, nail art and tattoo.
International Adventure Camp at Pachmarhi

15 students of Scout and Guide Club of the school attended the 21st International Adventure Camp, 1st SAANSO (South Asian Association of National Scout Organisation) organized by Bharat Scouts and Guides at Pachmarhi from February 2 to February 8, 2019. Ms. Shweta Sharma, Incharge of Scouts and Guides Club and Mr. Durgesh Yadav, Sports teacher accompanied the students wherein Scouts and Guides from different parts of the world viz., Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh participated. The treacherous tasks included trekking, zipline, parasailing, archery and shooting which instilled confidence and concentration amongst the students besides imparting practical skills. The cultural show and the campfire provided the opportunity to students to mingle with students of different cultures and taught them group dynamics, respect for other’s culture and leadership skills.
Disaster Management Workshop

The Governor Award recipients of Vijayant Scout Vivek Jain, Adarsh Rathore and Sahil Billore were invited to conduct a session on Disaster Management on December 22,2018 for the students of classes IX and X. The speakers apprised the students on how to combat the disasters and demonstrated making tents using logs, making Ladder Bridge and watching tower using sticks. The useful information pertaining to the first aid, types of bandages, stretchers and remedies for scorpion sting, snake bite, honey bee sting was also shared by them.
Visit to Nursery

Students of class VIII of the club visited the school Nursery on December 19, 2018. Mr. Rana, Horticulturist explained about the different types of flora along with the flowering period. The information about the quality of soil required for the flowers and fruits were also shared by the speaker. Students enjoyed their proximity with nature.

Mr. Rana, Horticulturistwas invited as a guest speaker in classes IX and X on December 15, 2018 to enlighten students on the importance of trees and cleaning of soil. To sensitize students towards planting saplings in their vicinity, a rally was organized by the club followed by the poster making activity where students conveyed the message ‘Save trees, Save life’ through diverse art forms.

‘In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks and hence the best view comes after the hardest climb.’With this confidence, around 150 students of classes IV and V along with their teachers trekked to JanapavKutiya, the birth place of Lord Parashurama,sixth avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism on December 15, 2018. Students were informed about the ayurvedic herbs found in the area. The students also visited the famous temple there.
Message of Celebrating Eco Friendly Diwali

Students of class 4 learnt different ways to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali and understood various values like sharing, spreading happiness and generosity. They also learnt about the harmful effects of burning crackers. They spread this message by taking out a rally in the school campus.
World Peace Day

‘Peace is not something you wish for, it’s something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away.’
International Day of Peace, also known as the World Peace was observed on September 22, 2018. Students of Scouts and Guides club sang the hymn ‘RaghupatiRaghav Raja Rama…’, a devotional song popularized by Mahatma Gandhi encouraging his countrymen to walk on the path of truth, righteousness, virtue, non-violence and peace. Students of classes VI to X of the club performed the ‘Messengers of Peace’ dance to spread the message of a peaceful world. The presentation culminated with a march by students carrying messages of change and action needed for embracing universal brotherhood.
Little Acts of Kindness

‘No act of kindness however small is ever wasted. One should do random acts of kindness because a simple act of kindness can make a tremendous impact on a person’s life.’ With these intentions the students of classes III and IV of Scouts and Guides club gifted members of the support staff of the school with gift boxes containing rakhis and chocolates for the festival of Rakshabandhan. The students had prepared the artistic rakhis and beautiful rakhis using waste material in their club periods. Members of the support staff were elated to receive these gifts from the children and expressed their gratitude by blessing them.
Visit by Inmates of Old Age Home on the Occasion of World Senior Citizens Day

World Senior Citizens Day was observed on August 24, 2018, in an exclusive manner where inmates from ‘Kankeshwari Devi Old Age Home’ were invited to spend a memorable time with the students of the school. A group of 22 elderly people from the Old Age Home visited the school to fill each heart with love and share their experiences. Students of classes III to V accorded a loving welcome to them in the assembly and participated in an interactive session with them. The elders were asked to write the happiest experience of their life on balloons which provided them wonderful memories to cherish.

To enhance the understanding and acceptance of a different culture, a group of 15 girls of St. Anthony Girls’ College, Kandy, Sri Lanka along with their Principal Mrs. Chandana Ranasinghe and two teachers Mrs. Thushari De Silva and Miss Harshini Jayatunge visited Choithram School from August 23, 2018 to August 28, 2018.Students of classes IX and X of Scouts and Guide club conducted various fun-filled activities on August 24, 2018 for them.The global action song of Scout ‘Make a Melody’ followed by the demonstration of different types of claps -rain clap, boom boom chick chick clap, special clap, gun clap and scout and guide clap were enjoyed by the guests. Students also participated in the scout and guide game ‘Bang’ to learn various skills associated with the game. The history related to the importance of left hand shake was also shared with the guest students.
The Gift of Life

‘We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give’ To spread awareness about the tremendous need for increasing the organ donors, students of Scout and Guide club of class VIII designed posters with verbal messages promoting/encouraging organ donation on August 13, 2018. The visual design depicted the importance of donation of vital organs like kidney, heart, liver, intestines, lungs, skin etc. This activity helped the students to understand that life can also be recycled by organ donation.
Laughter Yoga

‘A good laugh heals a lot of wounds’.To support both physical and emotional health in students, a ‘Laughter Yoga’ activity was organized by Scouts and Guides Club along with Health and Wellness Clubon July 21, 2018.The trainers Mrs. and Mr. Bisht demonstrated different laughing styles like greeting laugh, milk shake laugh, mistake laugh etc.to foster positive feelings to relax the mind and the body. Students enjoyed this priceless medicine interspersed with breathing techniques.
Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony which is one of the most significant events for the Scouts and Guides/Cubs and Bulbuls was organized on February 28, 2018. The event aimed to contribute to the development of young Cubs and Bulbuls in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals. The programme started with a prayer song, flag song and lighting of lamp. The Guest of the event Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scouts Counselor of Choithram School was greeted through Badi Salami and Vishaal Garjana. Cubs and Bulbuls sang a patriotic song, Bulbuls performed a dance and after the oath ceremony the badges were given to the recruits. Mr. Mishra addressed all Cubs and Bulbuls and motivated them to build strong character by being independent, leading life in a disciplined manner and doing at least one good deed daily. The ceremony created in the recruits an attitude of staying together, listening to elders and being kind.
An Adventurous Hike to Devguradia

As a part of the annual activity, the Scout and Guides Club of the school organized a hike to Devguradia on February 17, 2018. 96 Scouts and Guides of classes VI to X along with teacher Incharges accompanied the enthusiastic students. The expedition began with visiting the Devguradia temple followed by climbing the Tekri. Mr. Kunal Mishra, Scouts Counselor instructed the students to be vigilant, safe and ultimately enjoy trekking.
Bal Mela Organized With Fervor and Enthusiasm

To mark the birth anniversary of Scouts and Guides founder Lord Baden Powell and Lady Baden Powell, Bal Mela was organized by the students of Scouts and Guides on February 22, 2018. The special guests were the senior employees of Choithram School viz. Mr. Anil Sharma (electrician), Tan Singh Bhaiya (conductor), Rewa Didi and Saya didi (Kitchen Workers). The Scouts Counselor Mr. Kunal Mishra along with his wife witnessed the mela and motivated the students for performing good deeds. An array of stalls and exciting games like magic show, card game, sharp shooter, fidget game, mehndi, tattoo and nails art were organized by the students.
International Adventure Camp at Pachmarhi

Keeping the spirit of international brotherhood in mind, around 1100 Scouts and Guides from countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India gathered in the National Adventure Institute, Pachmarhi to witness the 20th International Adventure Camp. 21 students of classes VIII & IX of the school attended this camp from February 2 to February 8, 2018 accompanied by Ms. Shweta Sharma, Mr. Durgesh Yadav and Mr. Vishal Tiwari.
This camp created a huge platform for all the children to understand and exchange their cultural heritage with one another. The activities comprised of 15 to 20 km of trekking every day to places like Duchess Fall, the highest peak of the Satpura Range, Dhoopgarh, Jatashankar, and Beefall. The special attractions of this camp were advance level of rock climbing, valley cross and rappelling. Lord Baden Powell’s dream of worldwide brotherhood was visible at the time of grand campfires when all 1100 children as well as their teachers gathered and enjoyed each other’s performances.
Adventurous Expedition at Pachmarhi

Scouts and Guides of classes VII to X accompanied by their Incharge teachers had an enriching experience attending the National Adventure Camp organized by the Bharat Institute Pachmarhi from January 23 to 29, 2018. Each session in the camp had interesting activities like horse riding, rock climbing, rifle shooting and mountaineering. The students enjoyed trekking at Beefall, Jata Shankar and Rajandragiri hills along with camp fire at night. These activities have helped them to acquire values like team work, sharing, caring and kindness.
