Week 1:

Understanding Climate Change

This week marked the start of our journey in the Climate Action Project. Students explored the question, “What is climate change?” and learned that it goes beyond rising temperatures—it reflects how human actions impact the planet over time. They understood it as long-term changes in Earth’s climate caused mainly by activities like pollution, deforestation, and burning fuels. Looking at their own surroundings, they identified local causes such as waste burning, plastic use, fewer trees, and increasing vehicles. Through creative activities like reflections, posters, and discussions, they connected learning with action. The week concluded with a strong sense of awareness and responsibility, as students realized that understanding is the first step toward change—and that every small action matters.

Week 2:

Effects of Climate Change

Our young climate explorers moved from understanding climate change to exploring its real-life impacts. Through discussions and multimedia, they learned about effects like rising temperatures, floods, droughts, and loss of biodiversity. Students connected these global issues to local changes—hotter summers, unpredictable rainfall, and rising pollution—and reflected on how these affect health, farming, and daily life. Students shared personal observations and stories, deepening their understanding. Through creative expressions like infographics, drawings, poems, and models, they showcased their learning. By the end of the week, they realized that climate change is not distant—it is happening now, and it calls for awareness, empathy, and action from all of us.

Week 3:

Virtual Interaction with a partner school

Students had a virtual interaction with a partner school regarding the understanding, effects and solutions for climate change.

Week 4:

Solution For Climate Change

Our Innovation- the pavement purifiers-Solutions for Climate Change

Our young climate innovators designed an eco-friendly model called the Pavement Purifier, a creative step toward reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) naturally from the environment. The Pavement Purifier is a specially designed pavement system that uses bio-based materials and living organisms such as microalgae to absorb CO₂ from the air. Algae are among the planet’s most efficient natural purifiers. Through photosynthesis, they capture large amounts of CO₂ and produce oxygen far more effectively. They also designed other models related to recycling plastic and biodegradable material.

Week 5:

Taking Action- Spreading Awareness

Our students took a strong step toward protecting the planet by organizing a Climate Action Exhibition in our school. The aim was to spread awareness about climate change and inspire others to act for a sustainable future. The students not only learned about the causes and effects of climate change but also realized that solutions begin with awareness and small personal actions. Many of the models showed real-world solutions. Some students designed pavement purifiers that could absorb carbon dioxide naturally using algae. Others demonstrated eco-friendly sanitary pads made from bamboo fiber and cornstarch bioplastic, highlighting how replacing plastics with biodegradable materials can reduce waste and pollution.

Week 6:

If We Act Today, If We Delay

In week 6 , students participated in an engaging activity titled “If We Act Today, If We Delay.”

The main aim was to make students think deeply about the consequences of inaction on climate change. They expressed their ideas creatively by making posters that compared two scenarios — one showing a healthy, green planet if we take action now, and the other showing the damaging effects if we continue to delay. Through this activity, students understood how small actions today can bring big positive changes, while delay can lead to serious harm to our environment. The posters beautifully reflected their awareness, creativity, and strong commitment to protecting our planet.

Tree Plantation Activity

Students took part in a tree plantation drive to spread awareness and take real action against climate change.

Before planting, the students prepared seed balls using soil, compost, and seeds of native plants. These seed balls were later planted around the school campus and nearby areas to promote greenery and support biodiversity.
Through this hands-on activity, students learned the value of trees in reducing carbon dioxide, improving air quality, and protecting the planet. The event encouraged everyone to take simple, meaningful steps toward a greener and sustainable future

Global Climate Action Day – 6th November 2025

The teachers and students proudly joined the Global Climate Action Day Celebration along with 125 other schools from around the world. The event aimed to unite young minds and educators to take real action against climate change and promote sustainable living. During the celebration, everyone took an oath to protect the Earth by reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and spreading awareness about environmental protection. It was an inspiring moment of global unity, reminding everyone that together we can make a difference. The celebration strengthened our commitment to create a greener, cleaner, and safer planet for future generations.
