Each section of class 8 was divided into six/seven groups. Each group researched about the following aspects of the culture of Sri Lanka viz.
- location, capital city, demography, main languages spoken, important religions prevalent, history of existence, traditional dress
- family relationships, important traditions/beliefs/rituals, celebration of weddings
- dance, music
- cuisine, occupations
- festivals
- art and craft
- places of tourist interest
Each group prepared a scrap book in class and showcased their work in front of their peers and later in an exhibition in the assembly area.
