Immersion into the Culture of Jammu & Kashmir
The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Jammu & Kashmir during the morning assembly of March 13, 2018 as the students of class 6 performed folk dance of Jammu & Kashmir ‘Oshan-e-bahara’, sang folk song of Jammu & Kashmir -‘Bumbro, Bumbro’ and presented a piece of instrumental music based on ‘RaagPahadi’ of Jammu & Kashmir. They showcased their scrapbooks incorporating various facets of the culture of Jammu & Kashmir viz., location, family and relationships, dance and music, art and crafts, cuisine, places of tourist interest, important traditions, beliefs and spoke some greetings in theDogri language. Art work related to Kashmiri embroidery, craft work of blue pottery, and clay work of blue pottery slab method prepared by the students during their CCA periods were also displayed. Class 6 students had studied about the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period January – February 2018.
