Video Conference on the Theme “Diversity”
Grade 6 students from Choithram School, Manikbagh, India and Chidong Elementary School, Republic of Korea participated in a vibrant video conference centered around the theme of “Diversity”. The session commenced with students from Choithram School introducing India as a land of rich cultural diversity. They highlighted the geographical distribution of Indian states and showcased various cultural elements, including the traditional Rajasthani dance Ghoomar, Gujarati cuisine and attire, greetings in Marathi, a North Indian musical performance, and the traditional game Posham Pa, which is shared by both countries.
Following this, students from Chidong Elementary School presented facets of Korean culture. Their presentation featured traditional Korean games, national costumes, the preparation of Korean dishes, a Taekwondo demonstration showcasing Korea’s martial art heritage, and a musical performance using traditional Korean instruments.
The video conference was highly interactive, providing students with a meaningful platform to exchange ideas and learn about each other’s cultural traditions. Through this enriching experience, students not only celebrated their unique heritages but also discovered surprising cultural similarities that brought them closer together
