Class 8 students brought the vibrant culture of South Africa alive in the morning assembly of September 27, 2017 which was witnessed by the students and the teachers of the Senior School. The students performed ‘Sepedi’; folk dance of South Africa, presented a piece of African instrumental music and sang the national anthem of South Africa. The students showcased their scrapbooks incorporating various facets of the culture of South Africa viz., location, family and relationships, dance and music, art and crafts, cuisine, places of tourist interest, important traditions, beliefs, spoke few greetings and numerals from 1 to 10 in the Afrikaans language. Paintings related to African art, South African traditional bead jewellery; and clay items related to South African culture prepared by the students during their CCA periods were also displayed. Class 8 students had studied about the culture of South Africa as a part of their intercultural curriculum during the period August – September 2017.
