TERM I- Class VI
Immersion into the Culture of Telangana
The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Telangana during the morning assembly of September 21, 2022 as the students of class VI performed ‘Deelu Labbaru Enniyalo’, folk dance of Telangana, sang Telangana’s folk song ‘Ninne kaanan Ennekkalum’ and presented ‘Udayinchina Kiranama’, an instrumental piece of music of Telangana. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods.
Students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work pertaining to culture of Telangana on September 13, 2022. The exhibition was graced by Christophe Walder, Senior Programme Officer with School Enterprise Challenge (Global Awards), Teach A Man To Fish, UK. Art work comprising of Cheriyal paintings, craft work of Banjara embroidery painting on paper sheet and Dhokra work of clay modelling of the state of Telangana was displayed. The students had learnt the art, craft and clay modelling work of this state in their Visual Arts CCA periods.

TERM I- Class VII
Immersion into the Culture of Manipur
The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Manipur during the morning assembly of September 13 and September 21, 2022 as the students of class VII performed Manipuri dance folk dance, sang Manipuri folk fusion song ‘Mistna Leikai’ and presented instrumental piece of music on patriotic song of Manipur titled ‘Sana Leibak’. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods.
Students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work pertaining to culture of Manipur on September 13, 2022. The exhibition was graced by Christophe Walder, Senior Programme Officer with School Enterprise Challenge (Global Awards), Teach A Man To Fish, UK. It was a treat to view the cultural dance paintings (art work), Kauna grass craft work (paintings on basket with mirror work) and black pottery of the state of Manipur. The students had learnt the art, craft and clay modelling work of this state in their Visual Arts CCA periods.

TERM I- Class VIII
Immersion into the Culture of Nagaland
The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Nagaland during the morning assembly of September 13 and September 21, 2022 as the students of class VIII presented instrumental piece of music on ‘Ao Naga Song’, performed Naga folk dance and sang ‘O Rhosi’ folk song of Nagaland. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods.
Students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work pertaining to culture of Nagaland on September 13, 2022. The exhibition was graced by Christophe Walder, Senior Programme Officer with School Enterprise Challenge (Global Awards), Teach A Man To Fish, UK. Paintings showcasing cultural warriors and beautiful bamboo craft wind chimes related to the state of Nagaland were displayed. The students had learnt the art and craft work of this state in their Visual Arts CCA periods.

PROJECT – EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT
UNDER THE EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT PROGRAMME VIDEOCONFERENCE WITH LITTLE STAR H.S.SCHOOL, DIMAPUR, NAGALAND
Choithram School students worked on a collaborative project titled ‘Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat’ with Little Star Higher Secondary School in Dimapur from our paired state of Nagaland (under the aegis of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme’). Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat is an initiative of the government of India to promote cultural sustainability amongst the people of India. It is imperative that in today’s age we learn to accept and respect people of different cultures. Students of both the schools via Google Meet on May 10, 2022 showcased important facets of the culture of each other’s state through power point presentations. The facets of culture pertained to:
• Location, Capital City, Main Languages Spoken, Important Religions Prevalent, Traditional Dress
• Dance
• Music
• Cuisine
• Occupations
• Important Festivals
• Art And Craft –
• Places of Tourist Interest
• Tribes of Nagaland
• Traditional Sports
