The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Sikkim during the morning assembly of February 11, 2020 as the students of class 6 performed traditional dance ‘Tamang Selo’ of Sikkim, sang ‘Acha Choden Ma’ folk song of Sikkim and presented a piece of instrumental music on the Sikkim folk song, ‘Sunakhari Sungava’. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods. Thereafter students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work comprising of folk art drawings and clay articles related to culture of Sikkim prepared by the students during their Visual Art CCA periods.

The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods. Thereafter students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work comprising of Arabic paintings and articles of Arabian pottery related to the culture of UAE prepared by the students during their Visual Art CCA periods.

The students spoke some greetings as well as numerals from 1 to 10 in the Nepali language, the official language of Nepal. Thereafter students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work comprising of ‘Mithila art’ paintings and Buddha murals of clay prepared by the students during their Visual Art CCA periods.

Study of an Indian State – Punjab

The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Punjab during the morning assembly of August 17, 2019 as the students of class VI performed bhangra of Punjab, sang ‘Aao Ji Jee Aaya Nu’ Punjabi Song and presented a piece of instrumental music on the folk song of Punjab – ‘Ki Mein Jhoot Boliya’. The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Canada during the morning assembly of August 17, 2019 as the students of class VII performed ‘Acadian folk dance’ of Canada, sang Canada’s national anthem and presented ‘Reel St-Renard’, an instrumental piece of music of Canada. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods. Students spoke some greetings as well as numerals from 1 to 10 in the French language, one of the official languages of Canada. Thereafter students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work comprising of Maud Lewis paintings and landscapes related to culture of Canada prepared by the students during their Visual Art CCA periods.

The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Tanzania during the morning assembly of August 17, 2019 as the students of class VIII sang folk song of Tanzania ‘Muhogo wa Jang’ombe’ and presented African Traditional Musical’ composition of Tanzania. The students had learnt dance, vocal music and instrumental music of this state during their Performing Art CCA periods. Students spoke some greetings as well as numerals from 1 to 10 in the Swahili language, the official language of Tanzania. Thereafter students and teachers witnessed an exhibition of the students’ work comprising of ‘Tinga-tinga art’ paintings, bead jewellery and takashi pottery prepared by the students during their Visual Art CCA periods.
