The students and teachers got an insight into the culture of Malaysiaduring the morning assembly ofFebruary 15, 2018 as the students of class 6 performed traditional dance of Malaysia -‘Joget’, presented a piece of instrumental music on the Malaysian folk song ‘AyamDidik’and sang the national anthem of Malaysia. The students showcased their scrapbooks incorporating various facets of the culture of Malaysia viz., location, family and relationships, dance and music, art and crafts, cuisine, places of tourist interest, important traditions, beliefs, spoke few greetings and numerals from 1 to 10 in the Malay language of Malaysia.Batik paintings, ‘Ketupat’ (articles with weaving mat) and clay dolls related to Malaysian culture prepared by the students during their CCA periods were also displayed. Class 6 students had studied about the culture of Malaysia as a part of their intercultural curriculum during the period October – December 2017. Ms. Gillian Fraser, Global Citizenship Co-ordinator and Ms. Ellen Siv, Foundation stage teacher of Stoke Row C. E. Primary School, UK witnessed the morning assembly presentation as well as interacted with the students as they shared the greetings and numerals as well as scrap books, art, craft and clay modelling work of Malaysia.
